Around 785 million people globally don’t have access to clean water. Rural and isolated communities without access to clean water are forced to walk several hours every day to reach dirty water that is contaminated with E.coli, salmonella, cholera and/or dysentery, among others. An estimated 3.4 million people die every year from preventable water-related diseases that can be easily prevented by clean water and WASH (Water, sanitation, hygiene) initiatives. Generosity has helped 500,000 people by funding 800 sustainable water projects in 20 countries. They provide communities with the tools to be self-sufficient through WASH programs and water well maintenance lessons to guarantee the long-term impact and survival of their water projects.
