Our Expert Guides will take you on an incredible journey cycling through the most important ruins of Cusco's highlands and the Urubamba Valley.

Starting from your hotel, we will head to the village of Cruz Pata, at 2,550 meters, where we will get our equipment and bikes to begin the adventure. Here, we will also give a short introduction with advice and tips so you can thoroughly enjoy this journey.

During the first part of the ride, we'll cycle along lakes, mountains, and down some nice hills on a journey that will give us great views of the Veronica Mountain Range. You will see the snow-capped mountains on the other side of the valley, while traveling between green hills, discovering the small towns we'll ride past.

Our first stop will be in Moray, an area of agriculture during the Inca empire which is located at 3,575 meters above sea level, and is the only archaeological site in the region. Moray offers an impressive and enigmatic landscape with circular terraces resembling a large amphitheater. It is thought that these labyrinths were a great agricultural laboratory, but astronomical or religious interpretations have not been discarded. Here we'll take a moment to catch our breath and relax in this amazing location.

Next we will continue to the town of Maras, a place famous for both its history and its landscapes, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterwards, we'll bike to the northwest of the town where the famous salt flats, also known as the "salt mines", are located. With an average area of about 5 m2 per well, located on the side of Qaqawiñay Mountain, these small wells are irrigated during the dry season every three days with salt water. Once the water starts to evaporate, the salt it contained solidifies slowly, repeating this process until about 10 cm of salt accumulates. This salt is pounded, granulated, and packaged for commercial sale in markets across the country.

To end the day, we will descend 30 minutes on a trail surrounded by grazing llamas, finishing at the bank of the Urubamba River, 2,875 meters above sea level.

Join us for an unforgettable adventure through Peru's culture and history!

Note: Tour does not include entrance to Moray, entrance to salt mines, snacks.
