Our Expert Guide will take you on an alluring walking tour through the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, exploring its most famous sites.

We will begin our tour by taking the subway to downtown Rio. Many Cariocas still refer to downtown as “the City”, as if it were a separate city, due to the fact that it is so busy, exuberant, and attractive. We will get off the subway at Cinelândia Station, ready to explore. Cinelândia takes you back to Rio in the 1900s, with its relics of French architectural influence such as the National Museum of Fine Arts, Theatro Municipal – the city´s Opera House, the National Library, Pedro Ernesto Palace (City Hall), and the Cultural Center of the Federal Court. We'll stroll down the streets filled with rich history and gorgeous buildings, allowing ourselves to truly absorb the city's details.

We will then head to Carioca Square where on the way we'll see the Naval Club, Monastery Church of Santo Antônio, and the Ordem Terceira de São Francisco da Penitência, representing the true cultural richness of Brazilian colonial architecture (1622).

Next we'll walk past the Confeitaria Colombo, built in 1894 in Art- Nuveaux, Tiradentes Palace (State Hall ), Praça XV including the Imperial Palace (the Portuguese Royal Family's first residence), the statue of General Osório, Mestre Valentim's Fountain, and finally through the Teles Arch, to reach the cobble-stoned Travessa do Comercio. Here, we'll see the former residence of Carmen Miranda, the Church of Our Lady of the Merchants, the Post Office Cultural Center, France-Brazil House, Bank of Brasil Cultural Center, and Candelaria Church.

Join us for the most complete walking tour of Rio de Janeiro's historical center, full of beautiful architecture and fascinating tales from the past.
